The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

Hey ya'll, so ya know how I was going to take my rabbit to be fixed today? So I dropped him off at the vet and I was just pulling into my drive way when I received a call from the vet. Turns out my dear Muffin is actually a girl.
I mean, I had kind of had a feeling because I noticed her getting a dewlap earlier this year, but I thought that "he" was just getting kinda chunky. But apparently, the person who sexed when I bought her must have gotten it wrong.

Whoops! Are they still going to operate? It's much more invasive, and expensive. It is even more important though in females.

Hello i have a mini rex rabbit that is due on the 17th she is in a horse barn inside a stall in a puppy play pen the buck is in the same stall but in a different play pen on the 16th i am planning on taking out her hiding houses and putting in the nest box
My question is do you think having the buck in her sight will make her nervous during kindling if so what should i do about it
She is not a very nervous doe she loves kids and doesn't mind loud noises like trains dogs barking etc
If her seeing the buck would make her nervous i could try putting a piece of plywood between the cages
Besides putting ind the nest box and giving her more food is their anything else i should do
This is her 3rd time kindling

As long as they're separated so they can't reach eachother (so she doesn't feel physically harassed) it should be fine. Rabbits aren't as fragile as most people think they are and mine are pretty unshakable. They can see lots of other rabbits and still have fine litters.

Years ago I had one get out of a cage (someone else left it unlocked by accident), get attacked by a big dog, popped a blood vessel somewhere (blood out the nose) and two days later have a healthy litter and raise it. They're not as emotionally fragile as most folks think IMO. Once you have their basic needs down lock they're pretty self sustaining and resilient in my experience.
