That’s the setup we have. A family of four, we have 3 chickens, 5 ducks and a drake, a fluctuating number of quail, and meat rabbits. Plus house pets (3 rats, 1 bun, 2 cats, a dog).
All this on a 7600sf lot on a main road. It’s all about fences and compost and maximizing space. We use a food forest model for our gardening. It’s TOTALLY doable to become more self sufficient and increase the biodiversity in any outdoor space! Even a balcony!
I will be honest with you, the poop is a total non issue. As grazers they can’t always hold it, but we just pick up little stray poos with our hands and then wash them

They’re very dry for the most part. My kids call them Cocoa Puffs.
It’s the pee that can really heck up your day, but that seems to be the thing ours have a specific “spot” for. Our house bun potty trained himself until he got old enough to want to mark. Now we’re just waiting for him to be old enough for his neuter surgery.
