The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

Oh no 🙀 You’ve been hit with ..... Bunny Math! Quick! Take a cold shower! :lau:lau
I agree with @EverythingDucks, it’s super tempting, but it’s worth it to wait a while. And to get Bugs neutered. Unless, of course, you want to breed and sell the babies. But, then you’d have to have a plan for what to do with the ones that don’t sell.
Bunny math :lau

I wouldn't try breeding until you have more experience. It's a lot of work and it's sad to see babies that don't make it. And it can be hard to find them good homes unless you would sell them for meat.. Though it is fun to see little baby bunnies that shouldn't be the only reason.

Absolutely. I was going to add a caveat but got distracted. Sorry!

I might get a baby bunny the breed is called 'desi rabbit' here idk the English name. I am thinking if I am ready to raise a baby bunny.
I completely understand the desire to have more than one. Honestly, rabbits are social animals and a friend would be good for Bugs. I agree that getting him neutered first would be a good idea. You also need to have a plan for bonding...they may not just automatically get along. So two cages where they can see but not touch and separate roaming time will be necessary, then supervised time together in neutral territory where they don’t normally get to roam for the intro outside of cages. From what I understand you don’t even want them right next to each other right away. I read about it, but my buns were previously bonded and only separated for a couple of months. Reintroduction was pretty easy.

My castor female escaped last night. took me from 8am to 12pm to catch her. I forgot to lock the door and she pushed it open. Now I check that lock every time I check on any of the animals and its part of my nightly rounds when I close coops. Glad no predators got her.
Glad you caught her! That’s the biggest reason I haven’t let my buns outside yet...I need a place to pen them so catching will be easier

Aww i didnt no this site had a thread for bunny's. Meet my 3 girls cherry sandy and fizz
