Wow, I was just sitting on my back porch, having a wonderful "Folgers moment" when I heard what seemed like music to my ears. Off in the distance I heard a rooster crow.

I only started my life with chickens a month ago (but am hopelessly addicted!) and I only have laying hens. I have been telling myself that next year I will hopefully be able to get several Buckeyes and a Buckeye Roo for breeding. Hearing this Roo this morning, was a serious tug at the heart strings of desire. I want that!

I love my roos.

I am not so in love with the neighbor's bajillion roos, which I wouldnt mind if her banty roo RAROOED instead of sounding like a squashed cat or a dying crow.

New crowers are the best. I had one that sounded like a tuuuuubaaaaaaaaaaaa when he crowed.
