The Cat Chat Thread

Pics
I do know someone looking to adopt. My brother and his fiancée really want to adopt a cat because she fell absolutely in love with ours. Some beautiful cat you have. I don't know how you handle that many just having my three drive me batty though I love them dearly They range in ages from 15 1/2 yrs to less than two months old

The youngest I have now is 1.5 and the oldest is 6. We, my daughter and I, have a duplex so they basically have 2 houses and a large basement to run around in. We also have dogs , birds, a rabbit and gerbils indoors so they are well adjusted to chaos. I'm in northern Ky so that may be too far to go for a cat lol.

Bobby is incredibly handsome! I love his little white spot :love Siamese cats are my absolute favorite “fancy cats”. I hope to one day have one in my life. Is Bobby super talkative?
Thank you.. Bobby talks a little so he’s not like a typical Siamese.. his attitude is though ... but he loves being kissed right on the mouth:D... I just took this one of him.. but I took it with my phone so I had to snap it with my tablet to send.. so quality not great.. and same with Pippin..

@Rachel Taylor Oh yeah I know, we get a lot of kittens at work that have heart murmurs as babies and it disappears and they never develop heart disease. It was just kind of a real panic moment because I had just put my cat with HCM down about three months earlier. I had been taking my stethoscope around to all the cats I looked at to adopt after that, to listen for heart murmur, and Kibu was literally the ONE day I didn't have my stethoscope on me. OF COURSE.

She's perfectly healthy and whenever I have her blood drawn I make sure to run a ProBNP screening test just to be sure.

And yeah Russian blues are just...really weird. It's amusing when clients come in with their 'Russian blue' cats, and I'm like, you clearly have never met an actual Russian blue before because they're...how do I put it nicely...a very distinct personality type along with the very distinct face shape :p and your blue DSH is not that.
My Russian blue was when I was Young and I don't know that I've actually seen too many actual Russian blues since. The main coon I have currently is the one with the heart murmur. Hers never disappeared it's just stayed the same and never got worse. and she's doing really well for being over 15 years old

@Rachel Taylor darn Maine Coons with their heart issues. We see a lot of those too, but my clinic is biased towards Maine Coons since the vet/owner used to breed and show them. They can be such goofy giant fluffs. 15 is great for a Maine Coon! One of our 'house cats' at the clinic is that age and he's pretty much deaf and super arthritic but he still toodles around demanding attention from all the clients. :)

My main coon used to be friendly but I'm pretty much the only person she likes anymore. My niece (6) comes over and I always tell her don't put the gray one and then a few minutes later I hear her say I "ouch". And then I tell her I told you not to pet the gray one. She says 'but she's so pretty and fluffy.' I can't argue with that one.

This is my kitty, Loki. He’s my baby and my favorite even though we have 4 cats. He loves to follow me around and just talk to me, and he plays with the dogs, he’s great fun!
My daughter has a moody Russian blue and we have two cats who have been assigned outdoor only status for peeing in inappropriate places (my toaster, and my purse)!
Now that's a stunning cat!

I got my Jack from a vet that was going to keep him as an office cat because he hated people. He's been my buddy since the day I met him. For some reason male cats are the only cats the like me :idunnoMost male cats are obsessed over me and females hate me

That 15-year-old clinic cat I was speaking of passed away suddenly a week ago. It came as a total shock to all of us as he gave us no signs of illness and even ten minutes before was greeting clients as usual. He literally just lay down on his favorite bench in the lobby and passed without a sound.
