The Cat Chat Thread

Pics
I don't have any cats, but there are some strays that'll come by our house that I befriend. The neighbor across the street likes to feed them and tries to catch them and get them spayed and neutered. There's one who's never been caught that I tried to tame, but he's always been a 'wild child' and never has gotten close.

Next is the kitty we lovingly call Gutter Kitty...I don't have any pics uploaded to my computer but I can get one later. He's very finicky about being pet (only his head!!) and has always remained fairly shy. He'll swat when he's done with you lol.

And then...a new kitten showed up a while ago now? And he/she's (STILL can't tell!) the friendliest of all the stray kitties who have come over to our house. He was very young when he first showed up, and now I've ended up calling him 'Kitten'. Just the other day he finally let me pet him, and since then Kitten has become much more trusting.

Kitten loves butt scratches (he'll flop onto his side then roll back and forth), chasing acorns, and stealing toys...have yet to see that little kitty toy we bought ever since he ran off with it.:gig

So I have 19 cats! Anyone looking to adopt? Lol. They are all shelter rescues or abandoned rescues and they are ALL spayed/neutered. Have everything from all white to tortoise shell and tabby to manx. It's a zoo at my house!

Here are some of them.

I've a vet tech who's worked only with cats for the past 3 years, so of course I have my own cats.

Miss Shadow Sillycat-boo, Queen of the Sillycats. She just turned 11 on Wednesday! She talks all the time, she is violently allergic to beef, and she loves to embarrass me when I take her in to work by being an absolute drama queen about everything.

Kitty-boo Squeakmuffin Purrmonster (Kibu) is 3 and a half and her favorite thing to do is stare at me all day and purr really loud. She is the reason I have not had a Christmas tree in 3 years.

I had Guaraha of the Fluffy Butt before Kibu. He was a destruct-o-matic shark who argued with me when I told him to stop and would steal entire chicken legs out of my pans when I was cooking dinner. He never responded correctly to his medications but super spicy Cajun chicken? Didn't bother his stomach one bit. Jerk.

He had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (and also would not behave for a proper x-ray) and went into congestive heart failure at 3 years old so I had to put him to sleep. I got Kibu a few months later aaaaand she had a heart murmur at her first checkup :D. She's outgrown it we think, but we keep close tabs on her just in case.

I have about 8wild cats around my place I enjoy watching them hunt in the fields when the crop is off the ground they also keep the rodents off my equipment. Sometimes I stumble across a litter of kittens and they all stand up and hiss at me:lol: I also have one tamer orange on that was just tame when I moved in. The cats around here are about the same size as a coon. They have been naturally bred to be as strong and big as the cat genetics will allow then to be. Most of them are gray. I only have a picture of the orang cat which is not as big as the other cats.

I do know someone looking to adopt. My brother and his fiancée really want to adopt a cat because she fell absolutely in love with ours. Some beautiful cat you have. I don't know how you handle that many just having my three drive me batty though I love them dearly They range in ages from 15 1/2 yrs to less than two months old

Don't get discouraged by a heart murmur. My 15 1/2-year-old cat was found with one in her very first check up when she was only three months old. They check it every time she goes in for a check up and it is never gotten worse in all those years. Definitely something to keep an eye on but it doesn't always mean it's the end

This is my kitty, Loki. He’s my baby and my favorite even though we have 4 cats. He loves to follow me around and just talk to me, and he plays with the dogs, he’s great fun!
My daughter has a moody Russian blue and we have two cats who have been assigned outdoor only status for peeing in inappropriate places (my toaster, and my purse)!

Russian blues are very weird. I had when I was younger and that was just the weirdest cat I've ever known and huge! Wow peeing in the toaster?! The worst one I ever had is when mine Peed in the dryer. I would've been even more mad but thankfully the dryer was broken and couldn't be fixed so it had to be replaced anyway. Otherwise I would've been livid
