The Chickens Haven't Been Laying Since Last Spring Help me Out Here

I had that happen when the girls went on Winter Break. But some breeds will lay through the winter months. But as soon as January hit they all got back on track. I am getting an increase of eggs every day. So I am glad your flock is getting back into the laying job again. Congrats!

i have had the same problem my chickens gave me eggs when they first started laying in the dead of winter last year up till about may and then have not gave me any eggs since then i dont know what i am doing wrong but it is driveing me crazy the will be 2 years old this spring so they should by doing good i would think i have wormed every one dusted for mites and lice they eat leyer pelets and lots of scraps one lady told me to give them a bunch or worms and i did that for like a mounth but that did nouthing i am at a loss and my husband says he is about ready to start sending them to freezer camp

Well... somebody laid an egg today. I got back from the Lake City poultry show and was scraping the roost when I realized that someone had been in the egg boxes....all of them looked disturbed but no egg. On the way out of the pen I noticed a very blood streaked egg over by the water bowl. I think it was white. I have a cuckoo marans, so that puts here out. When she was laying they were chocolate colored. I rather think it was too big for the little banty hen although hers may have been white before she quit?? Not sure. I have a barred rock and I think hers was beige-ish. That leaves the polish....never have seen one lay and I figure it may have been one of them since the others all have laid before in the boxes...dare I hope that at least one of them is a hen????
