I stopped by a little local surplus outlet type store today. They are always giving away free stuff with a purchase. Usually it's some kind of produce that is at or past it's "good by" date. Last week it was pumpkins and the bagged Dole salads.
Well today it was large containers of USDA organic baby spinich and baby field greens! HOLY MOLY! I got 6 containers of it and I will share it with the chooks. I already gave them one and they went crazy. lol
They also had 6oz. containers of red raspberries for $.50!!!! There are 1 or 2 "fuzzy" ones in a container but I pulled those out and washe the rest and tossed them in the freezer. I picked out a few of the nicest ones for me and the chooks and dogs will share the rest. Great antioxidents!
I spent $10 so I wouldn't feel guilty about the free stuff. Got Helman's mayo 2 big jars for $1.00.
I just love a bargain! [IMG]

Yes, thank you for pointing out that great resource! The "reject rack" in the produce section of the local grocery store makes for great chicken treats.
