The cool chicken chat thread!

I probably will get a few Isa browns from the local TSC, but other than that, I will be hatching chicks that came from my flock. It's gonna be a busy spring, with pheasant eggs, chicken eggs, quail eggs, puppies, and possibly firemouth cichlid fry.
Ohhh!! I'm jealous!

@Rocky64 Wow! It will be a very busy spring for you! @familyfarm1 I haven't, but I've heard they are pretty good. Question for y'all: In your opinion is it better to get chicks in the spring than in the summer?

Do you think it will be hard for them when fall comes (I know they don't molt) will it put stress on them? @familyfarm1

In all, probably  2 Swedish Flower hens, 2 White Brahmas, and 2 Easter eggers. Maybe even another red sex link! @Hens rule
I'm even writing an informational essay about sfh's for school!

Cool! I am probably getting 3 chicks! I'm so excited because I will probably get my chicks around February 17th! Last year in school my science teacher had us hatch chicks. I did not get any from her but I got some very friendly chickens from a store that sells chicks.

@Hens rule My cousin hatched chicks in her class, and she got to keep them. She gave them to my aunt, and when they were watching my chickens along with theirs, they got killed by a dog. My chickens were a year old, and theirs were only 7 months. Poor chickes.

Sorry about your chickens. My dog tries to attack my chickens when they fly over their fence. He actually tried to bite one of my chickens head when I picked her up. Her head was actually in his mouth! She is ok now. Next week it's going to be -20 windchill here!!! I think one of my production reds has minor frostbite! :D
