Try "hibernation" :p jk, but it is cold where most of you guys are, even though it's gonna get hot enough to denature proteins around here

Yeah, and a lot of us probably got a cold snap where it went into single digits or below a week ago, to start winter off. Usually, fall to winter transitions are not this sudden, but this one was one day fall and the next winter.

Precious beebles!

All exams until finals are completed and I am officially burnt out! LIFE. The cold hasn't helped, we were in the teens. THE TEENS. (Like, -6-7 celsius)
Anyways, whats up? :pop

The great of the beebles is here!
WHOOOOOO for exams being over.

My exams are also over, my last one was on Tuesday :p It was very shoddily supervised. The server didn't work so we had to start 15 minutes late, and the teacher was running between two computer rooms on two different floors of the engineering building, so I just started even though we were meant to have 10 minutes reading time, lol.

Also when it was time to go, he said because of the server issue we could stay "a bit longer", and the timing was as vague as his statement. I stayed for an extra 20 minutes and there was still half the class going when I left. Nothing was said. :lau

At least the festive season is almost here, so we have an excuse to sing christmas songs. "So this is CHRISTMAS.... and what have you done?!" (that's how I always think of that line :p) "another year over.... a new one just begun."
Dear God, it's almost 2015 already. A new year was a really big deal back in 2009 but now they're just speeding past at the speed of time. :p

That's what season transitions are usually like here  It's said that we have winter, summer and "screw you" (well, another word is used instead of screw but I can't post that on BYC :p)

WOOOP.
Well that was very unprofessional of them, except the extra time at the end thing... :old My business professor just stands on his little podium thing and stares at us. Doesn't even look at his computer or desk, just stands there and stares at us for hour and half. I think it works as a fairly good cheating deterrent. Ugh, for most people in the class at least. Sadly, I believe the creep I was stuck next to might have snatched a good couple glances at my essay question portion. :rant I hate people like that.

They have been playing Christmas music here since the start of October, one more jingle bell and I'll pop. That song there has a bit of a judge-y quality to it. lol

I know! Man, I keep up with this! At the start of the semester I was still writing 2013 on my papers! I AM GETTING SOO OLD.

I feel ancient. In a few months' time I'll be a second year, I have employment, I have been claimed for two club committees (this comes as a surprise, I still think it's weird when people find me cool...) and offering patronage to a variety of new places in town. Never realised how much of our minuscule CBD I'd never seen.

The guy next to me in chem kept snatching glances in my direction  I used my water bottle as an effective shield. I was out of chem in an hour twenty (it was a 3 hour exam), he was barely writing at all. Should've studied a bit, mate...

Christmas songs have not started yet. Here it's usually early December when things start really heating up. It's always the same four songs, repeatedly played between the usual chart toppers.

Quote: Schools are all so happy to use all this technology. "Oh, we're switching to online tests and using computers for gradebooks and having a 100% computerized check-out system in the library, and you can get 2/3 of your textbooks online now."
And then the system fails in some way--be it a glitch in the server, or operator error, or website problems, or losing internet, and suddenly the school has nowhere to go. Its very frustrating to me--don't get me wrong, I like computers, but there is no way you should ever be dependent on them.

I agree.Call me old fashioned but everyhing feels much better in paper. And there's evidence that the rise in technology has actually increased paper consumption rather than send it the other way, due to the new ease of transferring data for printing.

However, my university still does one thing (thank lord) on paper - final exams. The one I was talking about had no choice because it was the exam for Intro to Process Modelling, a course about using Excel and Matlab for solving engineering problems. :p The entire course was about computers.

Wow, that's a good bit of accomplishment! And pfffffft, Joo you cool as whip. As in coolwhip, the fluffy cream/marshmallowly stuff that the local bakery puts on it's pies as topping. :p hehe..
So far I have managed to look at one club. Ugh, I do have a new car though. And by new I mean, a 14...... Years old one. lol, it's a little grungy and needs a new paint coat, but it's mine.

I am usually good at covering my work, I just wasn't paying attention while doing the essay part and POOF. :smack

We probably have the same four here. You'd think they'd come up with a few new ones or something. <.<
