~The Council Of Youngers of BYC! (COY)~

Hey guys :frow

Well we've just started getting our first assessment marks back (I know, week three and I think I've done about twenty assignments already). I'm surprised with how highly my practicals were scored. I used to do badly on practicals in school, but I think they use different criteria here. It's more about understanding rather than the quality of data analysis, which suits me fine. I always used to balls up my significant figures when it came to complicated equations. :P
I got 14.6/15 for chem and 9.5/10 for geology. I wrote, like, an essay for the last question when they asked for a paragraph, and I only got 9.5?! *whinges* (I'm just joking, it's probably because I forgot to put a legend on my map. Whoops.)

Aw, I'm not in college and don't understand the actual value of scores; however, I've had my fair share of difficult classes and have put a lot into one little question/detail before and not gotten tons of credit for it. In answer to your 9.5 scored answer to a question.

AHHH! I can't stop writing really wordy!! This is why I suck at craigslist ads.

I'm so not a process flow diagrams person. :P I mean, they look cool and they're not hard to understand, but how on earth am I meant to memorise all those symbols for drawing my own...? This question in the tutorial had heated air going through the desiccant in the main sequence thingy and I had no idea how to depict that. THAT WAS SUCH AN EASY QUESTION.

It's actually pretty fun though, we just hadn't had adequate examples of how to do it in the lectures. Google was also proving to be pretty useless on the matter because everyone uses computers to draw them these days. Now that I've looked at the answers and taught myself how to do a number of (basic!) things I should be able to nail any future questions of a similar nature. :P

You have absolutely nothing to be concerned about. :P

I think I've written several small essays on BYC during legitimate conversation.
We've also got a discussion board going for process eng and my posts are longer than everyone else's. It's probably going to be a permanent fixture on me, lol.

Yeah, just looked up process flow diagrams and they look pretty fascinating. So if I got this right, they're for showing "major parts of systems" in a chart, right? They kind of remind me of my chemistry charts where I charted the different compunds that made up fat.

And so you are hand-drawing the flow diagrams? It seems like that would be pretty abstract to be told heated air going through a dessicant, and convert that into a picture. xD

Joo! Assorted aquatic avian-type people birds! Rest of the world!
Hows it going? :P

It's going well, except for my totally shot immune system. I was sick three days ago, then recovered, then caught a cold the very next day. *Attempts to laugh but instead has a coughing fit* How are you?

Daww, that stinks. :hugs
That's generally what happens to me. I don't get sick often, but when I do I always be sure make sure it's for long time and thoroughly awful. :P Generally finish it up with a sinus infection. Yep.

Busy! Very busy!
Finals are taking their toll, so are my procrastination issues.
We have baby goats again! Three precious little buttheaded booger wads. They're pretty adorable though.

Hows about you? Aside from being ill? :P
