The coyotes are here again...

I spread bottles(with holes punched) with wolf urine soaked tampons around my run and property. Have 7 I believe of them, 4 around run and 3 across property. We are in rural farmland, coyotes and deer are regular.
Said to be coyote deterrent, they are afraid of wolves.

Spreading urine like that doesn’t work. It’s a total gimmick. You just may not have a problem with them.
Urine is more of an atttactant. They can tell the animal isn’t there just the smell of urine is there.
If you have wolves it might be effective but it might also draw in the wolves.
I have been out hunting and taken a leak in the snow. Following day in the same spot coyotes have peed in the same exact spot. The tracks is the snow were obvious.

Coyote was here daily about a month ago and got my Yorkie..She escaped but $400 later..
This one seams to be a young Male that is on his own..My Aussie\Golden Retriver has managed to keep it away. He also is bold and not that scared of humans.

About a year ago my neighbor who had moved in, let her mini schnauzer out her back door just after dark. A coyote got it and hurt it so bad it died.

I see them quite often on my property with my game cameras, mostly at night but here it's still in the 90's during the day.

How do you get the wolves to pee on the tampons?
I've done the human urine defense and this is my thoughts......
"I have found that peeing will work as a coyote deterent but getting close enough to pee on them is difficult.
You also have to consider the chance that they may attack. Not only are your vulnerable parts exposed, but it can be hard to run with your pants around your ankles.
I find it much easier to just pee on my chickens to keep them safe"

Wolf urine is a coyote attractant if anything. Coyotes don't have babies in the fall. Electric fences can start fires.

How much experience do you have with electric fences? Just about any urine might attract a coyote. The pups stay with the mother till mid to late fall.
