She laughed “Mum can we grab a blanket and pillow. I think we will sleep outside tonight” Anita turned to her mum who nodded “yeah go for it”. She ran up the stairs and motioned for Crow to follow.

Anita didn’t even think of Maybelle.

Crow followed after grabbing something off the table for himself and the birds. He wondered if Anita’s evenings were always this chaotic.

Crow balanced Maybelle, Dacaw, various food items, a blanket, and a pillow in his arms. Well, Maybelle was on his shoulder, but he had to make sure not to knock her off. Part of him wondered why she had been so quiet, it certainly wasn’t usual for a pigeon. Then again, she wasn’t exactly a pigeon.

Maybelle sat on Crow’s shoulder, her feathers ruffled. Just a pigeon, you’re just a pigeon. Get over it. She kept on saying to herself, though she was starting to doubt how good of a plan that would be realistically. She just wanted them to include her, to acknowledge her even. She was starting to feel like a ghost.

Rebecca crept through the trees, trying to be as quiet as possible. She had gone for a quick walk and had lost her brother and Imogen. She sighed and kept walking, hoping that she wouldn't get caught
