"The day my world turned upside down" story

Breathing hard, I looked for anywhere... ANYWHERE to run! They would kill me... I could almost hear their razor sharp teeth ripping open my skin... eating my insides and everything else. I can imagine my cry of pain, a cry of help. But most of all... I could imagine my father and mother. They would cry... they would mourn. I'm their only puppy... they would forever be sad. I would forever be sad.... I would miss them up in heaven. Snapping back to the present, I peeked through the leaves. The muscular dogs were pacing back and forth, talking to one another. "I tell you, I smell dog HERE!" One snarled. Another said, "No, you bone head! The dogs are at the top of the hill! Even if there was a dog here, he ain't nothing compared to human flesh. Not to mention chicken and dog meat! Gentlemen, we got us a feast waiting over that very hill... and I would suggest ya'll get your stinky, mangy hides of skin up there before they make it to the main road!" Nodding their heads in approval, they all hiked up the mountain again. My friends! Master! They were going to kill them! I jumped out of the bush and ran up the hill after them, only to find out it was immpossible. My feet slid and soon i was at the bottom of the hill again. I took the long way around and went on the sides where it wasn't as quite steep. Once I reached the otherside, I saw a weird looking building ahead. Smoke came from a chimney, and it looked like a old warehouse. Caustiously, I approached it. I peeked through the door and gasped. "Holy kibble!" Rows upon rows of cages lined the sides, and in each cage was several chickens, squawking "COCK A DOOLE DOOO!" At the end, I saw a large ring that had sand on the inside and thick fencing surrounding it. Inside, were 2 roosters fighting!

No, it's just that he's was orangish when he was young and his father's(dominique) name is Pumpkin.

"C"MON!!!!! FIGHT FIGHT!!" yelled the men on the outside of the ring. I walked down the hallway and crept up behind the men. A orange and a black rooster fought viciuosly at eachother, letting out crys of pain and anger. I noticed that the black rooster was much larger then the orange rooster, and the orange one was being beaten down. Memorys flooded my brain as I remembered my Dad telling me about Goldie, his old friend the rooster who died. My father described him in such detail that Goldie sounded like a hero.... but, maybe he was. I snapped back to the present when I heard a bell ring and some of the men shouted in victory, while others swore and kicked at the fence. The gold rooster lay on the ground and the black rooster on top, picking his comb. I watched as the men gathered the winning rooster and left the ring for a break, leaving the gold rooster on the cold ground. Slowly, I approached him and whimpered, "Are you okay?" He raised his bleeding head and clucked softly, afraid of me. Gently I picked him up and put him on my back, then I ran out the door and huddled in a bush with him. "Whats your name?" I asked. "Carrot....." he croaked, then his head dropped again. I looked towards the town and decided to do it. Shivering in the cold air, I walked slowly on the side of the road, the rooster on my back. Mind you, I was a puppy then, no more than 6 months old; so carrying a 8 pound rooster down a icy, slippery, wet, cold, frozen road wasn't the best idea.
