Fido started howling with laughter! I looked at him, very confused why he was laughing at a huge, menacing dog. Suddenly I realized who it was, it was Hope! Soon more faces appeared! Buddy, Gracie, Rio and Master! They all came bouncing in, licking my face and examining Carrot, curious at who this new friend was. "Everyone, this is Carrot." I barked. They all introduced themselves, then eagerly looked at him, expecting his story. "I lived with a flock of many hens, and thank goodness I was the only rooster. One day, our owner left us alone. He never came back. Animal control came and took us all away, and brought us to a new farm. The farm had horses and dogs, cats and donkeys, cows and pigs... any animal you can think of! I was determined to set my hens free, thinking we werer gonna be killed, when really, it was our new, safe home. I didn't care, so the minute I could, I ran out of the cage and called to my flock. They didn't come. A new rooster emerged from a coop and challenged me. I'm not the fighting type, so I didn't. I ran off on my own and was soon caught in a trap, set by those mean men from the fighting ring. And thats my story." Carrot said. "Did they have dinosaurs??" I asked him excitedly. "What?" "Did they have dinosaurs? At the farm? You said any type of animal!!" I repeated. Everyone rolled their eyes and quietly Fido told me dinosaurs were extinct. Embarassed, my tail tucked. By now, master had a fire going in the middle of the cave. We all huddled around it, thankful to escape from the dense, cold air. Suddenly, a hude shadow, bigger than Hope's shadow, appeared in the mouth of the cave. It had long legs, a long snout and I heard a "clip-clop-clippity-clop" as it made its way towards us.
