I too saw kids reaching into brooders at TSC. You want to know something? I didn't reach into the brooders at TSC!!! I picked the ones out that I wanted and I allowed TSC staff to pick them up and box them for me.

Every time I went to TSC or our local feed stores, my 7 year old grandson was with me. He stood excitedly but politely by the brooders watching but never once reached inside to touch one of the chicks or ducks.

That's the difference between children that are raised correctly and ones that are allowed to run wild.

That poor duckling never had a chance.

I took my 2 kids and 3 daycare children with me both times we got chicks and they were MUCH better behaved and younger (the youngest 2 are 1 and the oldest is 6). However, had any of them injured any of the chicks not only would we have bought the chick but we would have tried to nurse it back to health as a lesson on how to treat animals. Of course, it is hard to come back from being squashed but you guys know what I mean.
