love your chickies! the pics are great. quite photogenic little boogers arent they? i have found a new big brother to my 29 little ones. His name is Dave. ok ok, i know he is probably not protecting, just hoping one will escape. haha. I will ring his neck if he does the unthinkable. Check out the pic

Might not be the correct place to find out..... But how can you tell the quality of your GLW?? Not wanting to show her, and I know she's more for production.

Is there a standard for the breed? Or a place where I could find this?

Oh, and LOVE the picture!! Dave looks just like our cat Cleo. Who does the same thing, but now the girls are getting too big, she just watches.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but is there an update on the baby that fell off the arm?

I have a mixed flock that has a White Crested Polish roo as the head of it , and ALL the birds get along just fine, but the roo just absolutely hates me, loves my DS , and Im the one who raised him from an egg..

Its ok, because he is a fantastic protector of the girls.

The breeds that are in that particular flock, are..

Jersey Giant..which Im seriously doubting IS one since she is no bigger that my SLW...maybe an Austalorp..

Hubby was worried we might have problems with cats and chickens , but so far they are just really interested in each other

we have a cat and he's always been great with the chickens. of course he grew up with them. but i don't trust him around chicks....they look too much like wild birds to him cuz of their size. and our cat is always killing wild birds, rabbits, squirrels, snakes etc.
