No, not Australia, California. Lake Isabella with the Sequoia National Park behind my house. Piute fire almost got us last year. 3000 feet between Bakersfield and Mojave. Snow in Winter and HOT in summer. Hard to grow anything where I am and water is expensive and soil is hard pack clay.

Would the duckweed work without a pump and filter?
Maybe just with a solar aerator?

I'm in aired country. Where can I pick up duckweed? I know this is strange to ask most of you, but I have never seen it. Anyone into shipping a package? Easier than eggs !

I found my last batch as a public park in a drainage ditch. Previously I had purchased it off ebay. The only problem with the ebay duckweed is it came out of Texas and Florida....two low altitude states. When I put the duckweed in the filter container, there was visible UV damage to the plants. That wasn't what ultimately killed the last 2 cultures, but I am sure that didn't help.

Algae is proving to be an issue. If I could get the duckweed to grow, it would help keep down the algae, but I can't seem to get it to grow. The most invasive plant ever and I keep killing it. WTH!?!?!
