However many a pond is buit without any liner at all. Also, where is the water drained to when cleaning any lined pond if not on the ground right next to that pond?

See I read and watch...just did not say much in the thread.
Personally, I do not see what the big worry is...dogs, cats, wild animals and etc crap on the ground..it rains and voile' it is in the soil and somewhere down the line the water table. So a little duck poo gets on the ground....who cares?
