I bought an AcuRite Digital Humidity and Temperature Monitor from Walmart for $9. Now to test and make some notes. Hatching is a summer project with my 4 year old and my mom is begging for Cauygas and a few chickens of her own. Should I candle duck eggs today is day 7

I'm a candling addict, but I say yes, candle at day 7 to assess your air cell growth progress. If too small, your humidity is too high. If too large, your humidity is too low. Day 7 is early enough to adjust and get it just right.

I'm a 1st time duck mommy and I too was shocked at how fast they grow. One day cute fuzzy little ducklings, then blink and they are almost a ft tall. Mine are Welch Harlequins.

Ain't that the truth! Little weeds, I say! Little weeds! Lol

Ok, 2nd egg in incubator, pipped the membrane.( Already lost 1 from this set. Pipped yesterday.) Not due til Saturday. Can still see numerous veins in egg when candled.

And yet the ones under momma, outside, are simply taking their sweet time! (8+ hrs!) thanks for the good vibes... Think I'm gonna need them!!!!
