what breeds are your ducks ?

Ok so I have found a person, who i can buy 10 ducklings, of they White chilterns, has anybody ever had these, and he also had 8 geese eggs, which I'm going to buy of him, and he said he would throw in some ducks eggs aswell for me, but here is the problem, I have the 5 duck eggs in on day 5, I'm pretty sure only one is fertile, but I only have one incubator, What do I do, don't geese and ducks take them same length as ducks to hatch so I can put them in together but what do I do about the one duck egg that I think is Fertile, should I put it in with them, and let it it hatch and when it does take it out, or should I put it in the brooder, and mist it? Or should I just take it out and l throw it away?

They are all really tame and just deal with it. He always dogs up worms so they love him.

My ducks love their peas!

That is adorable! I was going to say I love the black duck, but then the white crested one is adorable too, but then... omg, they are all beautiful! Even the dog gets in on the action! Love it! Mine are only a week old, and I haven't tried peas yet, but they sure love soggy cheerios!

Hey, This will sound a bit morbid, but one of our welsh harlequins died today. She got out of the fence throughout a truly tiny hole that was covered by some brush. Anyway the neighbor's dog got ahold of her. She was alive when I got to her, but had a puncture to her chest. She died while I waited for my husband to get home so we could take her to the vet together, or so he could put her down. It depended on what he thought. I have a small child and couldn't juggle both him and a flappyish bird at the vets office so we needed two sets of hands , and I couldn't put her down on my own either.

My question though is she safe to eat? I hate for her to die without purpose. It's so sad. Any advice would be great.

i would think so since it was death by pred and not by disease. very sorry for your loss, now fix that hole.
