I think mine think I'm there mom or part of the flock they don't run from me at all they're always eager to see me. My regular chicks are the same way but my bantams are more independent we can hold them but they run before I catch them then they're fine
one of my ducklings wants to be held all the time she gives duck hugs. None call out in distress. Funniest part when I picked her at tsc she spit all over the girl that picked her up but never us. Now I am not sure on gender yet because they're young but my 2 runners were banded when I got them

I am worried about moving them outside we have coyotes in our area our outside dogs help keep them away from our house in going to reinforce my lot with pallets to help keep predators out and close in the top we will be using a chain link dog lot. I want my little babies safe. These are pets with hopefully the bonus of eggs but if they all turn out to be boys that's fine too because they have such sweet personalities. They are messy and go through water quickly but they have been so much fun for us. I'm shocked how friendly they are. I have one lap duck she loves being with me more than the flock I plan on having them close to the house to also help keep predators away. It'd break my heart if anything happens to them

Thanks WVduckchick, here is a better video, the egg one was shakey I was so thrilled to see eggs, they turned 5mos on the 27th

Hi I am raising my first flock of ducklings this year we have 5 still inside. Does anyone have ducklings that prefer humans to other ducks? I have one runner that would rather be in my arms or on my shoulder than with the flock. She calls for me and wiggles her tail like a dog as soon as my hands are low enough she climbs right on. She's a very sweet and loving duckling she doesn't interact with the other ducklings much she will lay alone and call for me to come get her, she's a snuggler loves to sleep on me. Do you think she will stay this way when grown? All of the ducklings enjoy attention they greet me when I go visit but she's extra spoiled
White Crested or pekin would be the most friendly out of my hand raised ducklings, they are my two love bugs! All of them give me the head bob when I come out to see them(Which I read that means they love you).

I have two mallards, one male, one female (very panicky and skittish),

one female khacki (very skittish to humans but shes the leader of the flock, cute lil thing pinning down ducks twice her size

),

Two Rouins, one male, one female, (this breed would come in 3rd, very docile but not very social to people) and My female white crested who is the tamest of all, still lets me hold her, comes up and eats out of my hand and is a sweetheart:)

I had a grimraud feres pekin but I re-homed her bc she was trampling my little ducks as she weighed a ton and was the size of a goose almost, she was the one who gave me the head bob the most, they all think i am mom
