The Duck Thread

The only reason I got it is bc someone recommended it when I asked what I should use. So I will go get the brewers yeast they just said it was better then brewers yeast bc of all the extra vitamins. Anyways so How much brewers yeast should I put on their food then? Also I was told npt to put a cup of chick grit to the side bc they could mistake it for food and eat too much

When you put out their food just sprinkle a teaspoon over it and that will do fine. How many and how old are they? If all they are getting is commercial feed they probably do not need grit. However, if you give treats or if they are allowed outside where they may graze then, yes, you should put a little dish of chick grit out for them. They will eat it but they are supposed to if they are getting anything other than commercial feed.

I found my ducklings actually prefer the chickens ferments feed to adding brewers yeast, they are on starter/grower non medicated feed and I add in a handful of the treat block to it, that might be something you could try

My two pekin ducklings are probably around 5 weeks old and they live outside full time with my 3 chicks. They are all separated from the chicken run, but they still have access to dirt, grass, bugs, etc. Do I need to buy them chick grit or can they just use the sand that is in their run as grit?

Booeybird, if there is sand and other small rocks in the run you do not need to add more for the chicks, that is more needed if they are being fed grains and stuff and are enclosed all the time

I have heard bugs carry Niace.Well,my duck is having a problem with Niance defincencey, but it is not getting bad becuase I have took them off medicated chick feed.Since worms carry Niance, could I just feed hima bunch of worms?
