The Duck Thread

I wasn't sure. I know one of them is a male Rouen (green bill, raspy quack & curled tail feather). But I am not sure about the gender of the other one that head bobs back (a Peking), sometimes loud quack sometimes raspy and no curled tail feather.


Two of mine do the head bob, too. I just figured it was a greeting, since they do it when I am in sight and talking to them or coming to feed them.
 
I'm sure I've looked at that link before and listened to those clips, but I guess I missed the statement that voice is more accurate than curly tail feather. 

I'm sure given a couple of days or weeks you'll know for sure. Though the waiting moment can be very long, but I'm sure when it turns out as you expect it's worth the surprise.

Interestingly, it's very prominent in my Muscovy than in my Pekin and it's an interesting sight when they hiss and do that.
