The Duck Thread

(First time duck mommy) my 1 month old pekins go out from about 3- sundown, because that is when I'm home? They have a blast outside 1 plays in the pool the other stands by the pool siping from it (won't go in) either of them have yet to even pay any attention to their coop. They still come in at night. Can I trust they will be fine if I let them out in the morning until 3 when I come home? My biggest fear is them drowning or something happening when I'm not here. They need more fresh air.. I'm just having a hard time letting them go solo lol

Of course my ducklings would hatch within minutes of the rain starting lol

Mine are a month but I can't have them outside due to where I live, if I could I wouldn't let them out unsupervised either but that's due to the one having panic attacks or whatever. If nothing has ever happened I would probably let them go even though it'd be hard lol

I put mine outside all day starting at about 5 weeks, then at 7 weeks (a few days ago) started leaving them in the coop at night. It was harder on me than it was on them.. They love it out there! They rule the roost and usually when I go out there one or both of them have all the chickens herded up and are steadily chattering at them like they are telling them off.... Lol

You can't let your ducks go outside at all?

It's 63 out already so I went ahead and put them out for the day. They seem to approve as my non-swimmer decided to jump right in the pool! They have tons of water tubs out as it's supposed to reach low 80s today. Hubby will come home and check on them at noon. Wish us luck!
