Ha....oops, you said that in your first post, sorry. They're ADORABLE!! I've heard good things about the breed. You'll be their best bud eventually. It takes time to build the trust. They may not cuddle, but I'm sure they'll love you.

it's ok. I can't wait to get them outside and see if they will follow me around! My husband keeps laughing at me because of how excited I am for that.
They love to nibble that is how they learn what good to eat and what isn't. She sounds adorable, eventually she will be able to live with your other ducks, when I have only 1 I take them outside as often as possible [always staying right with it] so the rest of the flock can see and be around the lil one and vise versa. When it gets a little older say 2-4 weeks bring out some treats and start getting everyone use to something yummy when new member comes out they will accept it it just takes time and little one needs to be same size as the others before with them full time. I hope you'll post some pics of all your ducks we love pics. also a unbreakable mirror will help the tiny one see it is a duck and not humanI was given a freshly hatched pekin duckling from my neighbor, mom wasn't looking after it, and it wasn't walking we have it in a brooder with 2 stuffed ducks, seems to be doing great on its own, up and moving great at 3 days old. I don't like raising one by itself but we already have 5 3 month old ducks,
will we be able to add this duckling to our flock when its older?
does anyone know why ducklings nibble? I make sure to give the little one lots of attention and it loves to nibble on my fingers, and face lol. Its favorite place to sleep is under my chin on my neck. I think it likes its toy duck company I always find it sleeping under ones wingbut it will eagerly run to my hand when I go to get it out, first thing nibbles all over me so we will probably name him/her nibbles![]()
Welcome to BYC. They are Pekin and depending on age if over 5 months then female if under say 4 months and under no curl to the tail feather so you will have to go by voice females quack loudly drakes have a raspy low quack.
