It was Goldie, for him it was more of a really successful glide. He was trying to keep up with Uno.

a really successful glide well that's a new one. Yesterday I actually saw Opie try to fly across the drive way that wasn't even a successful glide I think he got maybe 2" off the ground for about 5 sec.

Some feed layer other feed an All Flock and always have oyster shell out in a separate bowl for layers. I keep it out even if feeding layer feed some just need more. I also crush up egg shell and give to mine they love them.

This is for feeding adult ducks 5 months and older. Younger ducks not laying shouldn't have Layer feed. But All Flock is fine for hatchlings on up to adults.

I have the all flock . The egg shells and poultry grit we use for chicken them seem to like it. And there nightly veggies. Mine or adult though.

Call me old school, or barbaric...... I stuff alfalfa up in in their shelter for them to pick through, mine also seem to be very fond of lavender, and of coarse I fill the fond with several 100 gold fish every month....... I know that's going to make someone unhappy...... And if your not as picky as I am the ducks love to dig in with the chickens they go crazy for 5 grain scratch....

@gimp32 Welcome to BYC. I see nothing wrong or old school with how your caring for your ducks. Herbs are good for our flocks the same as us. Mine get to eat any herb growing in my garden along with a complete feed.

Nothing wrong with old school. I think that most of us overthink what we're doing most of the time anyway! I don't do goldfish, I do shiners (it's a great excuse to go ice fishing!) and what you're doing isn't necessarily old school, so much as spoiling your ducks!!!

Hi All! This is my first post here, and I'm a new duck mom!

I saved two 6 month old mallard drakes from some pretty awful conditions - I've had them for about a month now, and everything has been great until recently. They were hatched and raised together, and there are no hens, nor have they ever been with hens. Their names are Max and Shadow.

The past few days they have both been doing this neck quiver thing, and then whenever I feed them some meal worms or something special (other than pellets), Shadow attacks Max. This only happens if I feed them, not my boyfriend or my dad who they just met. I've read a little on here that they could be wanting to mate with me, which is flattering I suppose but kind of awkward - they are my newly adopted sons!

Any advice or help is appreciated, there isn't too much on the internet about ducks! Thank you again!

i have 3 runers, 2 boys 1 girl the messiest things i have ever had but love them to death
