Awe, that's wonderful. You've got a sweetie for sure.

All my birds start on FF from hatch on. I have 11 ducklings and 8 chicks right now eating it. Plus all my adult ducks and geese and chickens. Mine really like FF. it's not real wet I use Sally Sunshine's method. Want the link?

I would like the link! What exactly do you ferment? I bought a bunch a grains and what not in hopes to make my own duck feed using Storeys method but sadly couldn't find some of the ingredients. Would be very interested in mixing my own and fermenting!

Has anyone dealt with riemerella anatipestifer? I also have two goslings, and chicken chicks. I've read that it can affect them, but there's not much information on how contagious it is to them. I've lost three ducklings. Since Monday no one else had died, and if anyone has information on how long until I know the others are safe, and can be outside, without infecting my other babies, would be appreciated.

My flock eats an All flock feed and I add split peas, wheat berries, spirulina. some herbs like Oregano, garlic granules and Nutritional yeast for the B vitamins. Once my ducklings get to laying age I'll add flax seeds to the ff. Since we all have different amounts of birds we're feeding your add ons will be different than mine. I use a 3 gal bucket for my FF fill it 2/3 full of non GMO feed then put in the add ons. I also add Reg oatmeal since this feed has 20% protein. I am feeding 41 birds. I really like this method because it isn't soupy it's more cornmeal consistency. you could make it as wet as you want but Mine like it less soupy. I don't put their water right next to their food bowls either that way it's stays drier.

Well, I sold four welshie drakelets today. It was hard to see them go :hit The last drakelet will be going tomorrow to keep a lone duckling company - the woman had a bad hatch and only got one duckling. Then I'll have the six ducklets left.

When they're so little like that, I can't imagine getting rid of them. Welshies are so cute!

Well, at least they went to a good home :) They went to an experienced duck owner who seemed really nice, so that made it easier. And I know the one I'm selling tomorrow will be spoiled rotten by the lady that's taking him - he'll have a whole flock of khaki ladies to call his own when he grows up. But it is hard - they're just so cute! I wish I could keep them all.

It is sad to see them go. Gees, we have to wait on them to hatch for 35 days and then they're gone in 3 or so

Did you vent sex or by their beak color?

I vent sexed :) These are show lines so beak sexing is not very accurate and the color difference is not as distinct as hatchery lines.
