The Easter Egger Thread

I kept Stella and my other girls separate, with viewing only, for two days. They didn’t seem too interested in her, so the other night I put Stella in the same coop with the other girls in the evening, before the other girls went in. Fortunately, they were all alive in the morning. 😛 I just wish they would stop picking on her. It breaks my heart. 😢
It is totally odd to me that they can act all fine with a fence in between, but you remove it and all the sudden it’s like—who are you thinking you can be here? 🫤😩 It took me 3 weeks of look don’t touch before the really mean picking was over…she might need more than just two days? Poor girl! ❤️

Well I really hope my favorite colorwise baby isn't a roo my coop only fits 6 and I don't want my girls picked on too much

These are my thoughts:

Run:

76” by 36”

(6. 3 ft by 3 ft)

Approximately 18 square feet in the run.

Recommended is 10 square feet each, so (generous) 2 chickens in the run.

I don't know the dimensions of the coop itself, but I'd put maximum of 2 chickens in there, as is.

Are they able to free range?

If possible, I would try doing something like this:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/my-renovated-prefab-coop.1440258/

Which would add a lot more space, then put the renovated pre-fab into some sort of fenced enclosure for the run (or just let them free range if thats an option)

Sorry, don't mean to be hijacking this thread. :)
