The EE braggers thread!!!

Thanks - the blue/brown one (pic #3) was even prettier before my darn Australorp hen decided to play rooster. That blue EE hen is always submitting to the Australorp and her back feathers above her tail are getting ruined/broken

well its actually a gosling in the photo but i do house her with the chicks. she gets along great with the chicks although first she was living with 6 barred rock chicks and then i had to give 5 of those chicks away and put a whole bunch of new chicks in with her. when all the new chicks were introduced to her she would nip at their wings but after a day she was fine with them. i only have one goose so she thinks she is a chick but i would think that if you have at least two ducks they will stick together and not interact much with the chicks. i have a friend who rescued some baby ducklings on the side of the road and then put them in with her chicks and they all seem to get along fine although sometimes the ducks go after the chicks but this might be because they are wild mallards. so all in all i think its fine for them to be housed together if they grow up together

and by the way i wouldn't house chicks with ducklings who are more then a few weeks older because they could crush the chicks. in just 3 weeks my goose is almost the size of my silkie and in one day she grows as much as a chick would in a weeks

haha, that's funny, well, you can call me a kid if you like, haha. I'm 36 and still a TOYS R' US KID, errr adult.
that's too bad, that blue roo, would be a shame to see him eaten. Maybe I can airmail him to you, LOL

Hi there! New to EE's. I just thought that I would share my two new additions.
I was told they are 5 months old and should start laying soon. Anyone have a guess on age, they seem younger to me. oh well they are great anyway!

The only hatchery stock that I kept when we changed over to breeder quality is our Easter Eggers. We just love them. 2 lay green eggs, and 1 lays a pink egg. They are the sweetest girls. I guess the roosters all agree, as they are their favorites, too, and their backs were getting bare.

Sooooo, they all three wear aprons.
