hi everyone,
we are getting about six chicks this spring, first time. we are definately getting some EE's, but was also thinking of a few barred rocks. any thoughts on this? thanks.
How about barred EE.Working on these. Can be sexed at day old by the size of the head spot just like barred rock.Perhaps you wanted brown eggs also?

My EE, Hazel, is famous for her double (and sometimes triple!) yolkers! She's amazing, but I worry about her possibly becoming eggbound! You should see the size of some of her eggs! I seriously need to get a picture sometime!

Well at first i dint think it was an EE, but Mirror one of my EEs, just started laying three days ago. I got 1 egg the first day and no egg the secong or the third day. Then i looked at the egg shell more and you can't see it in the picture that well but it is this really pale blue, like the color of her first egg. For her second egg she has ever layed i think that is pretty amazing.

hi outrun,
actually i had heard they were really good with kids and yes, i also like the color pattern. i have been debating on just EE's and then thought i'd get a few of these too. thanks.

hi dowgirl,
thanks so much, and i can't believe you are in brewer, i am in glenburn. too funny. can i ask you a few questions? did you insulate your coop and do you let your chickens out in the winter? thanks.

hi chicken pickin,
i find that interesting, it seems everyone feels that about the EE's. can anyone tell me why? is it their personality or looks? or maybe both? what is it about their personalities that is so different from the other breeds? maybe i should just get six EE's?

hi jerryse,
where do you find barred EE's? they sound beautiful! can you get them at the local feed store when they have chicks? thanks
