The EE braggers thread!!!

Great! Thanks for the info. I thought she was just going to have a single straight comb. I was prepared for only brown eggs. Are my chances for green or blue eggs better with a modified pea comb than if she had a single comb?

Yes with a modified pea comb the chances are said to be better than with a straight comb.

We are thinking about adding a couple EE's to our flock of BO's and would like to know how winter hardy they are. Our winters are long and can get extremely cold. Do they do well coop'd up?
Thanks

Well I live in indiana and have had a few harsh winters. they are very cold hardy. I had 2 that refused to go in the coop and sleep in a bush near the house from almost beginning of winter to about mid spring and through the summer some. then all the sudden started sleeping in the coop again, they make no sense. By they survived all winter with just each other to cuddle. I would put them in the coop and they would fly back out, pointless.

That is so funny....they wouldn't last one night outdoors in our winter climate...-20 with wind chill it would be much more....thanks for the information, think I will go ahead and attempt it.
