When do EEs start to lay?

Most people report late onset of laying. Mine were hatchery and started laying from 20 weeks (the earliest) to 28ish weeks. The majority right at 22 weeks (in my flock)

The earliest I have had one lay was 8 months. Mine usually start around 9.5-11 months old

I have one EE and she just started to lay. She was a little over 28 weeks when she laid her first mint green egg.

Thanks. I love the blues too. I currently have 6 EE girls (2 light blues, 2 dark blues, 1 golden and 1 white). All have red/orange highlights except goldie who has black highlights. They are with 2 Wheaten Ameraucana cockrels (1 normal, 1 blue). I just love them, their crazy beards and their quirky personalities. I can't wait to see what colored eggs they lay and hoping that with the 2 Wheaten Ameraucana males that the 2nd generation will all be blue egg layers.
