RockerHen, your black and gold pullet is beautiful. Is she one you hatched from your own eggs? If so, what did her parents look like?
She is not from my eggs, I purchased these two as chicks from a breeder at our local chickenstock. I agree that her coloration is beautiful, it looks like she may have had something with gold lacing in her background.

I hate it when it's this cold. The one day I had 5 that cracked. She is pretty! Where did you get her?
I got her and 4 others from McMurray last August. This is her first egg that I am sure of. I caught her right in the act, but she stood up and the egg dropped right onto a wooden egg in the box. I am excited to see what the remaining two will lay. I have one who lays a mostly blue egg and one who lays a sage green egg as well. I love that all 5 of my EE look different. They will probably be my main focus in the future!

Yes, I love my EE's too. They are my favorite. I thought you meant because of the cold. That's why mine cracked. Can you post pics of your other one?
