I had a new hatch this morning, it came from a smallish size olive colored egg. I see the tuffed cheeks and darker colored legs but it has a straight comb???

EE pullets are some of the fastest pullets you can get to produce egg's as mine stated laying hard shelled egg's at 15 weeks and all by week 18 put I feed them Turkey Grow with high protein and a egg per five pullets goes in to every pot of wet feed I give them ....
Mine didn't start laying until 23 weeks, but they were also August babies. All started laying January/February.Wow! I didn't know that. I was not expecting eggs from my EE till end of Sept. Will have to make sure she has access to the boxes earlier than that. Thanks for the info.
I have 5 from McMurray. 4 have beards/muffs and one does not. They lay eggs in varying shades from blue to sage green with speckles. My white one, who laid a light blue egg is broody right now, at a little over 8 months old. Their eggs are solid medium with a large every now and then--- but they are still young and have not molted yet. I am very happy with them. They all have different builds.Hello EE thread![]()
Is there a particularly good source for EE's? Hatchery or otherwise.....Meyer's lists them as broody, MM as pink/blue/green layers, Sand Hill as large birds that lay green eggs. Egg size also seems to vary. Just wondering if there is a consensus.
Thanks!!
