The EE braggers thread!!!

Here is a tip for getting a hen to go broody . Leave some eggs in the nest . Mark them so you can still gather fresh eggs . This will often prompt broodiness . Some may go broody without this .

Broody #10 of the year a Blue EE will be getting EE eggs tonight. I have no idea what she's sitting on.

You too? I just had number ten (an EE) go broody on Monday. She's getting wheaten ameraucana eggs tonight. That's the fourth EE that has gone broody on me this year. Five broodies were silkies (one twice) and one was a wheaten ameraucana. Four were EEs. I've never had so many large fowl go broody in one year. Two of the EEs and the wheaten hen have the same wheaten father. The other two EEs are also half ameraucana from other crosses.

Man, here you guys are on number 10 and I haven't even got one this year lol. And I have many Cochins, so that really surprised me

I thought I would share these photos of my cuckoo project pullet . Nice slate legs . I have more of these . Maybe I can catch a cockerel tomorrow for pictures .

I wasn't going to get any Easter Eggers in my order and I didn't. However, when there were some loose ones for sale I couldn't resist adding three of them to my others I was picking up. They seem to be more skittish than my others, they were among the last to leave the coop and they seem close to the bottom of the still very young pecking order (only 6 1/2 weeks old all of them), but I have to admit they add a little bit more personality to the flock and they do stick out from the others. I can't resist posting a photo of my bearded one.

Get silkies. I have one trying to go broody again as of tonight. I had chicks hatch tonight, too.
