Here's my addition to this thread. I have an EE hen and 24 week old?? EE cockerel that I plan to use as my breeders in the spring. The hen brooded 3 turkey poults and 3 peachicks this last spring. I think they will make some very nice chicks who will have some very interesting eggs. I also have three supposed barred rock hens who lay pinkish/brown, light blue and greenish eggs. Not sure what I will do with them. It's too late in the year here to hatch any eggs, so we will eat/give away what eggs we get until spring. He is breeding all four hens and about 75% appear to be fertile. He is a great boy and keeps a good eye on the flock. By spring I'm think that fertility should be 100%. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

took a pic of the EE hen's eggs on a yellow towel with a flash and this is what I got...different...they look olive in sunlight

about 6 days of recent eggs except for the white store bought in the lower left corner ( I have 4 hens)..we ate a few eggs

They live with 6 turkeys and 3 peafowl

wowza, turkeyrangler, the first two will make some GORGEOUS babies. very neat, busy, flashy coloring.

wouldn't that be fun if the eggs were actually that purple, everyone would want that bird !!!!!!!!

FINALLY got an egg from my EE hen - she's just over 34 weeks old! Thought she'd never lay! Was hoping for a green or blue egg, but it was pink. I'm thrilled nonetheless!

TURKEYRANGLER very impressive pictures of your birds and eggs. I have a question about the hen, did she go broody more than once or were the turkey poults and pea chicks from the same clutch ?
