I just love those EEs that are light colored! I'm so jealous! I still wouldn't trade my girls though. Geez, never enough space for all that I want.
About the brown EE eggs - it's my understanding that EEs are mixed breed birds that are likely to have Araucana mixed in somewhere. That's likely where the muffs and beards come from (although other breeds do have them). The Araucana carry the gene for the blue eggs, which is a dominant gene, and that's why EEs often have blue or blue-green eggs. If your little sweetie is laying those pretty brown eggs, its just luck of the draw that she didn't inherit the blue gene. She did, however, inherit the gene that makes brown eggs. It will be interesting to find out if her sisters lay brown, pink or olive eggs. Each of those colors, I do believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong), carry the brown gene. The olive eggs carry both the brown and the blue gene, I think. Let us know what the other EEs end up laying. I'm curious.
