The EE braggers thread!!!

Medicine Man, I have two pullets that just started to lay that are marked similar to those above. They do not have the muffs and beard nor do they lay blue or blue/green eggs. They are mutts one lays an egg that is kinda like a BA waxy brown, I call it, the other lays a cream colored egg something like one of my EEs. Their mamas were GLW and papas are either a BA or an EE, maybe one of each.

Anyway love the colors of those two and yours.

Is that Augusta G. ? There is no need to muck up the genes if Mary Poppins got out her famous tape measure and measured the NAQ it would read no adjustments need perfect in everyway, just like it did for Mary P. !!!

I've also got two pullets that are colored (white, black, gray, & red) a lot alike that are crossed between a EE roo and a golden comet hen, well they might have been different moms but GC's. GCs are a hybrid production chicken crossed with WL roo and RIR hen, so a lot of combinations going in that line. One of those does lay a minty blue-green egg, just started laying last week. The pair of pullets do have the beard and muffs. So in that respect they are EEs The other two as above are just mutts, as they do not look like the EEs except for the slate or gray/greenish legs. I have a supposed to be pure Aruacana roo in with my hens since last week. In a couple weeks I want to save back some eggs to hatch in the incubator. Didn't want to start too early as I have to run it in the barn and the brooder is also out there.

Now are they EE's or that "other" breed? They don't have green legs!!! But that one on the left looks like she has the beginning of a Fro hair cut!

That is going to be one pretty bird!!

They are EE's I got them from tractor supply. Last year I got EE's from out local feed store and they had green but these don't. One does not have a beard/muffs

I thought y'all might get a laugh out of this.......

I had a lady come get hens from me. She asked me how long would they be fertile, I told her up to 2 weeks but probably less than that. She said that she needed to make sure she kept those eggs seperate from her eggs that she sells since you can't eat fertile eggs. I wanted to smack her. I told her that you most certainly can eat fertile eggs.

Also, she said that chickens only grow one set of feathers. I had a hen with a bald back and i told her that they would grow back and she said that chickens only get one set.

I was just ready to get that crazy lady out of my yard.
