The EE braggers thread!!!

Yeah, it's kinda hard to tell from those photos... The light hits them in just the right spots, washing the color out. If you try taking photos in the shade, or with an overcast day, it may help prevent that.

(oh, just wanted to point this out to you guys too... my "drug" sniffing dog https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5876746#p5876746 )

My 5 week old EE chicks. We think these are the pullets. The obvious roos went to a friend already:

They adopted my 10 week old br chick in their flock. She sleeps with them and goes where they go!

Here is my 3 week old EE chick from the pullet bin (we think the other is a brwon leghorn, but who knows lol)

Here is my olive egger Pamela, and my dc and some of the 3 week chicks. We had them together in the large run yesterday.

Wow! So pretty!

I LOVEEE the blues.

I want blues soooo bad. I am getting chickies again on Friday... I wish I knew what blue EE chicks looked like, cuz if there are any in the EE bin when I go, I am SO getting them! These EEs are sooo cool with all their different colors and stuff

Here are pictures of the 5 blue chicks when they were less than a week old. Don't know if that helps.

We are actually giving away two of the blues. We have one hen that is blue and then with one of the chicks, will make two. We only want 8 chickens and we want a variety.

Here is a picture of the roo we gave away. He was super super light blue. Very pretty in person:

Wow he is beautiful!!
I want a blue EE too wish I had known what to look for on a blue chick when I went to get my chicks a week ago, the bin was full I think they just had gotten them!

I think your blue pullets look so pretty too! I wish it was easier to sex the EEs at a younger age. Your roo has a very big comb if it is also 5 weeks old in the picture. And your 3 week old pullets look just like my Michael Jackson!!

Which means he might be really a she!!

Too bad you're not in Seattle-- I would totally take those two blues off your hands! I doubt the co-op will have blue EE's... I'll just have to satisfy my craving for blue with 1 Blue Cochin, haha.

The chicks pictured on that website are of pure Ameraucanas, not Easter Eggers. You might find chicks that resemble those pictured on the website but they are by no means Ameraucana, there is also no guarantee that they will mature and feather out the same color as their down.

I know that but you can have a educated guess at least.... It has worked for me in the past. not 100% but good educated guess. I relize EEs have lots of different gene in there little bodies. That pop up and surprize you with their colors. Love my EEs.
My friend got a beautiful wheaten (type) EE from her guess from the feed store. I am going to cross my blue ameraucana roo with my good bearded EEs this summer when hes old enough.
Have ten EEs coming the 17th to feed store. They have been beautiful beard pullets. And nice size birds. and I love watch to see what color they end up being.
I Had a beautiful blue ameraucana hen but the neighbor kid shot it with a bee bee gun and she died. So much for expensive eggs. Thats water under the bridge. Have one more black hen ameraucana from that hatch (bought from breeder) hope to get her old enough to lay eggs and I'll try to hatch them. cross
ed to the blue ameraucana. Chicken colors are so much fun....
