The EE braggers thread!!!

Some pictures taken today of my mixed flock, showcasing the EEs of course.

They're 39 days old (about five and a half weeks).

It's hard to take individual pictures of them because many don't like being held. So instead I'm taking group shots in the hopes that I get most of them.

The one in the lower left of the picture is, I believe, a duckwing-coloured male. Can anyone confirm the colour? (I know he's a he.)

I'm also wondering what the one standing behind the Barred Rock (behind the aforementioned EE) is in terms of colouration and gender - similar to the male, except the comb is more narrow, has no ridges, and the feathers are more developed. For colouring it's similar to the male but has less white in the wings and doesn't have white on the neck or upper chest, and in the lower chest half the feathers look to be laced with white.

The EE to the right of these chicks I believe is a female, but I'm not 100% sure.

Here's "Sissy", a chick named by my mom when I had the chick in the house at about a week old until two weeks due to a leg injury. Unlike all the other chicks, this one doesn't mind being held. I think Sissy's a girl, but I think I'm seeing hackle feathers... or am I imagining things?

Here's the breakdown of what I have - I ordered a total of nine EEs from Ideal, four pullets and five straight run. It seems that when I picked up my chicks from the group order organizer, I took seven EEs and two possible Dark Cornish with me (not knowing at the time). I received an e-mail earlier today from the organizer showing a picture of two of his mystery chicks and they definitely look like EEs. So a swap may be done in the near future if I identified the two chicks correctly (one of them is in the bottom of the first picture, the second one looks similar).

I got 2 that looked like that, and they look COMPLETELY different now! Isn't it funny how that works with EE's? One feathered in black and white, very pretty. The other one still looks like a hot mess, all mixed up brown and black with bright orange head and neck, and a black beard! I think she'll be pretty once her coloring calms down. lol. They are both girls, though.

Thanks I wa shoping for girls

Eggs! Miss Blue (the looker I posted a few days ago) lays the green egg. Sometimes it is more blue. Miss Brown lays the small blue egg. The white is a Silver Spangled Hamburg.

I really like that rooster in the last picture. I've never seen a whitish one like that, they usually have alot of red in them when they are that color.

Yes the roos I got this year all have red somewhere. 20 roos out of 32 chicks all 8 weeks old lol

Black Beard is the only one I'm keeping.

Besides the fact that many of your roosters have blue they are definitely similar to my rooster, must be a very common color. Where are they from?

They are from a breeder in Delano, TN Ameraucana's are what she was calling them. Blue gene carriers with beards. But, people call them EE's too. I have 10 EE's and 11 Ameruacana's they look so close I have a hard time picking them out. I know someone is going to slam me for saying they look alike

I have a 8 week old Easter Egger and I noticed when the other hens (different breeds) would eat a mealworm or bug they find, they are quick to get the bug, but Gypsie Rose (her name) my EE can not grab onto anything, so upon closer inspection I noticed the top of her beak is curved a lot and the bottom one is longer..so that is why she can not grasp anything that moves. Basically she has gotten to where she doesn't even try.
Is this something to be worried about? Is this common in this breed and can I do something about it???
If anyone can help I would appreciate it, Thanks!!

She eats her chicken food just fine though.
