The EE braggers thread!!!

This was my first EE last year: (she is the yellow chick to the far right)

she had slightly darker legs at 3 days and they got gradually darker until they are clearly green now.

This is Lily at maturity. She lays a green egg.

This is one of this years' EE chicks:

and the same chick a couple of weeks ago at about 15 weeks.

They were both pretty much yellow at hatch with darker legs. Hermoine (this year's chick) had some slightly darker feathering on her heade and upper neck, though.

Thanks for the advice so far. My chicks were light yellow as day-olds, and they don't have any darkening on their feet at 2-1/2 weeks, and not super fluffy cheek feathers, but they sure look like EEs otherwise, so pictures:

Any thoughts?

No puffy cheeks and no green legs? I can't see their combs in your pictures -- do they have pea combs? I know it's possible to have EEs without all of the typical traits but if they have NONE of them, I'd think you have a couple of production reds or red sex links.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. They are pretty chicks, though.

Mypetchicken doesn't sell "production reds" or "red sex link" breed chickens...? If you guys don't think they are EEs, I will post to the general ID thread. Thanks for all your help!

edited to say: I see that mypetchicken does indeed sell Red Stars which are sex-link. So perhaps you did ID them for me, after all!

Thanks!

Their "Rhode Island Reds" are most likely Production Reds. Unless you buy from a heritage breeder, that's what you'll get. "Red Star" is Red Sex Link, only without using that word.

They're both great layers and friendly birds.
