EE can have other combs and they can lay colored eggs.... I have not had one yet with another comb and lay a colored egg, but I don't have many yet. It really sounds like you have a roo.... BTW.... Wyandotte don't have straight combs...Question about my new little EE chick.
Two weeks ago I brought a 3 day old EE home, along with a silver lace wyandotte and RIR. Her comb isn't looking like a pea comb at all, in fact it's bigger than the other two chicks single combs. (granted they are all still pretty tiny lol) Her legs are also a brighter yellow than the other two. I've had EE's before and their Combs looked nothing like these. Their Combs were actually tighter than my Ameraucana's. I'm starting to worry she may not be an EE. I'll be happy with what ever she ends up, but I was so hoping for an EE.
Do they ever have single combs, or do I have a mystery chick? Thanks![]()
Do you have both Wyandotte and Ameraucana roosters ? She could be a mix if you do. My first guess of you only have Wyandotte is that the birds is a Gold Laced Wyandotte Rooster or EE.
Anyone want to take a stab at my 5 week old? She's the result of a mixed color flock of ameraucanas, or she's a wyandotte. The egg she came from was very lightly tinted and hard to tell for sure. No one else wants to take a stab at gender/breed with her other than saying she's not am ameraucana. What do you think? Pullet? cockerel? Ameraucana? Wyandotte? thoughts?
