The EE braggers thread!!!

I have asked this earlier, why do you keep the egg cartons at an angle while hatching ? Just curious cause I want to know.

Nice healthy looking chicks mama

Well it looks like my Brood is done. Out of 45 eggs in the incubator 33 have hatched. I don't think anymore will hatch but, I could be wrong. I put a splash maran over my Ameraucans and EE's. Looks like they are all a shade of grey! Except two cream colored one.

I didn't hatch them. It was a hired incubator. But I will ask today when I pick them up. My guess is they tumble out easier and keep the other eggs clean. Or, it may just be that's the best angle for the web cam. I was wondering too.

My 3 -4 week old girls. First one is Buffy, second is Zoe. We only get to keep one, and everyone is leaning towards the much more friendly Buffy. I think Zoe has the more attractive plumage, but she's flighty. Buffy, I fear, may be a Biff, as she's showing some rooster behaviors already... We also have two Wellsumers not pictured, and one is almost definately a roo(much larger comb, aggressive behavior-the same behavior shown by Buffy/Biff).

He's a beauty!!!!

If your talking about Oreo, he is an awesome boy as well as pretty to look at. He has never shown any agression to humans, finds treats all the time for his girls, eats out of my hand (but I raise bugs for them so they all do that) He is also infatuated w/ my hair, lol

Does anyone have pics of what this little cutie might look like as an adult bird?

Thanks! :)

My Family: 3 kiddos, 1 husband
My Furry Friends: 3 dogs, 1 cat
My Pet Chickens: 2 barred rocks, 2 buff orpingtons, and 2 speckled sussex, and new this year, 2 Hatchery Amaraucanas! Weeee!

I found out the reason Marlon had the eggs in a crate on an angle. He said it helps with keeping the unhatched eggs in place as well as cleaner. Also it give more floor space in the brooder.

It does sound practical, it is just that I have never seen that style before.

CFWolfe both birds look quite alike. Are you able to keep rooster where you are living ?
