The EE braggers thread!!!

emjay, yep still an EE even without muffs and beard, although some do grow in at the end og the first year.
the first one I am guessing will be mostly white with splotchy colored saddle and wings, probably more color than you are seeing now.
the second one grey and brown partriagy/pheasanty and the third one grey and white penciled type. nice looking birds!

I hatched him from one of my EE's eggs. I have a Blue Andalusian roo in with them. I think one of my EE's must carry the blue Gene though because I have hatched out a few Blue Barred birds too. I have my Barred Rocks in with my EE's as well. I had to mark him with a zip-tie because I do also have true Ameraucanas and I don't want to get him mixed in with them! I'm assuming he is a roo.

I just found this thread. Awesome EEs everyone. I'll have to post some of ours later. I have 9 EEs that are about a year old and 10 babies almost 3 weeks old. They are one of my favorite breeds for sure.

Last week I got a couple of EEs that are just adorable. I can't wait to see how they feather up. Jane is absolutely the sweetest girl in our small flock.

Jane

The girl on the left is Jane and, to the far right, is Easter Egg

My little girl asked what kind she was so I told her Easter Egger, so that is what she thought we should call her. My son then decided to name a Barred Rock Jelly Bean.

thanks Katy.

I have sold 6, not sure which 6 they are taking yet. which works out great for me, as i was planning on keeping 2 or 3 anyways.

I want to keep the first pic, the white one with blue eyes, and black patches. (hopefully girl, I believe she is)
then there is the SLW x baby, or the tiny white baby with a peachy brown head. you can see that little white on in the first pic in back corner. she's kind of cute, but very dainty and small. she was the last egg to hatch, very tiny and slower to grow. Wasn't sure she'd live but did. I am kind of getting attached to that one.

I went down to the basement to chill with the chicks a bit. My two EEgers were moved down into the big brooders a couple of days ago. Previous to that they were in my kitchen where they were accustomed to being handled regularly.

I got them out and they peeped at me for a while, then both snuggled up against each other in the crook of my arm, stretched their necks out over my arm and went to sleep. I could almost hear their little chicken sighs. It was soo sweet!

For those who got free eggs from me . . . and anyone else who would like some

I have removed Bob (the White Ameraucana) from the EE breeding pen and put in Peanut (a Buff Ameraucana). Bob and Snowflake are off honeymooning at rustyswomans farm and Peanut is trying to prove that he is the better man.

So . . . if you would like some chicks from the same hens but different daddy here's your chance!!! I hatched 6 of Roy's (check out start of this thread) eggs last week three chicks were Bob's, and three were Peanuts, so he is doing his job. They look great with a good possibility of Buff coloring and super puffy cheeks.
