The EE braggers thread!!!

Hi, y'all!
Since I am hatching out EEs by the dozen I thought I would finally come join you.

This last hatch had 8 EE babies- 5 black, 2 blue and one mottled brown. Most of them are boys and will need new homes eventually. They are quite lovely though.

This is the mottled boy. I think he's a cutie.

The back of the blue girl. Her coloring is lovely.

Here is a sample of my egg colors. The dark red one top right is from my EE who usually lays very light pink eggs. This was her first egg since winter, I couldn't get over the color... Almost couldn't bare eating it. In retrospect, I should've blown it out, and kept it.
Oh well.

The large one in front is a Runner duck egg, the 2 to the left are from either my BO, RIR, Barred Rock, or BA. Don't know which, and the green of course is from one of my other EEs.

amarie . . . will you please name my birds???? Large Marge is Hysterical!!

It's so funny that you say that as I have been thinking that Large Marge needs to be renamed! She is still large.......don't get me wrong. But I imagine Large Marge working at a diner (or a bar) telling slightly off-color jokes and smoking cigarettes and sloshing whisky around. VERY kind heart but wrinkles and maybe a blond wig. MY large marge is too naive for all that! I am teaching her the word "up" If I say it enough she gets up into my hand. She *may* not understand the word, maybe she just sees the giant hand that gives her hard boiled eggs!

We are naming them as we go. Out of 16 I think we've only named 5 or 6. Large Marge (todd snyder song) celery stick (not sure why, daughter named her), bubbles (won't let anyone else in the dust bath, Stretch (stretches out neck all the time) Ruffles (ee with giant white and black ruffles down the chest. and Amelia (the flying barred rock)

I sit in there at night and watch them. It's so fun, I'm going to be so sad when they go to the coop!

ETA My son (4) named the rooster "Lasso the Cow" now he has just shortened it to cow. Apparently Jack does not want a chicken!

I wonder how many roosters I have. This is fun to see what we get.
