The EE braggers thread!!!

first, welcome to BYC and the EE thread!!!
second, your Rooo is sooooooo cool looking, awesome long legs. I don't know anything about Indian Games but I guessing your hunch is correct. His coloring is a bit like my friends favorelles.
third, . . . . where in the heck is Sagle????

Thanks for the welcome! Ooo I'll have to check out some favorelles. Sagle is about 12 miles south of Sandpoint. Or 45 miles north of Coeur D' Alene. Or about 1.5 hours from the canadian border. I love it here! I live on 5 acres with a mountain almost in my backyard. And the population of Sagle is like a whoping 200 or so!

When you say combs, do you mean a different kind of comb from the others, like a single comb as opposed to a pea comb? Or just that they are more pronounced? Easter Eggers can have any kind of comb - one of the benefits of being an easter egger I guess. If they all have the same type of comb just the two have bigger and redder combs, then they are probably fellows.

megcpat- I'm not sure I know what a pea comb is...LOL

I do have other roos I got as packing peanuts at the same time. I'm guessing they AREN"T EE because their legs are blue.

Think three rows of little red peas.... sort of.... Of course, finding a good representation of a pea comb can be difficult.

Blue legs huh? How cool is that?!

All but one of mine started out with green legs. Of those that had green legs, now they are more of a slate color. The one that started off with yellow has yellow.

One thing I find so interesting is how the breed of EE's has changed. We bought some over ten years ago. We have long since sold them. We recently bought some more. The ones I bought ten years ago looked different than the ones most people, including us, have now.

Okay- i found a picture of a pea comb.

I have 24 pullets and 4 Roos for sure. Out of the pullets- they all have blue/green legs and 2 have a pea comb that is bigger then the rest. The for Roosters have large single combs and yellow legs..they are way bigger then all the other pullets but I can't say for sure what breed they are because they were packing peanuts.

I'll try and get some pictures of the 2 pullets in question - however I'm not sure if I can figure out how to upload them.

hearthandsoul - great pics!!!! I LOVE Gladys the Rooster . . . I have a Roy the hen lol!

lilblessings5 - it sounds like the roos are a different breed, probably leghorns or something - what color are they?

alabama ee - interesting info, any pics of your chicks form 10 years ago?

duramaxgirl - lol silly me! I used to have 5 acres on Cocolala creek

I will be up there in June . . .

megcpat - yes quite a bummer about Goldilocks. She was the only one that threw pure white, I had one roo but sold it last week. On a good note though, her replacement is an all black, 1/2 Black Ameraucana 1/2 Barred Rock, and now laying deep Sky blue eggs. i have her in with Peanut the Buff Ameraucana
