The EE braggers thread!!!

mopargal1972- so so cute!!!

Kim_NC- good luck on your hatch, can't wait to see pics.

I just had to share a few pictures of my girls I took yesterday.

I have 4 EE's and I just love their funny silly personalities.

Here's Penny, she's the leader of the pack, and first to come for treats.

This is Charlotte, I just love her beautiful dark coloring.

Here is Blondie, she's pretty shy but coming around.

and last but not least is Hadlee, she is the silliest slowest thing I've ever seen, just the way she walks cracks me up.

Your Red & blue chick may end up looking like Blueberry:

Here are some of the Aloha (still EEs now) chicks in the brooder

A random Easter EE chick I rescued:

And Wayne of the Mohawk--He is from my Polish (FunnyHat) under my Aloha Roo (Patchwork)

And since the Alohas have relied heavily on the fabulous genes of the EEs, here are some of the Aloha project birds:

they are so funny looking at this stage!! I love how you caught the light shinning through their goofy little "adolescent" feathers. I love, love, love it! That blue is developing some very pretty lacing - beautiful.

I had to come home sick this morning from work.

I think I might be getting the flu. Feeling especially down, I went out back to check on the girls and look what I found...

My first blue egg! It was laid by Powder or Ella, two white EE sisters. They've been looking very red/enlarged in the comb so I knew it was only a matter of time until one of them laid. I was so excited I started coughing and couldn't stop for at least 5 minutes. Does this egg look blue to you, or blue green? In person it does kind of have a teal cast. I'm hoping that with time as they mature their eggs will lean more towards the blue end of the spectrum. Either way, I'm so much happier now!

Also, the egg was right outside their nesting box. almost as if it had rolled out, I'm so proud that they're smart enough to at least try and lay near where they're suppose to.

Here's a picture of the girls,

I *heart* the ugly stage.

Blueberry has red lacing on her blue feathers...it is sorta subtle--I'll try to get a good picture this weekend.

I will TOTALLY arm wrestle you for the white and beige one though! She's gonna be a looker.

I haven't updated the Henway in a while. I suppose I should get on that...Daycare is calling---gotta go get a sick baby

Newleyweds: I love Charlotte's dark coloring, too. I've never seen an EE quite like her before. She's quite unique!

Urbanfarmboi: Beautiful white speckled egg! Wish mine would lay something like that--would certainly lift my spirits to see something that pretty in the nestbox. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Crazycatnchickenladay: I really like those Aloha chickens. What (besides EE) went in to make up your blue and rust pullet? I've got a project that is producing similar colored birds. They are so pretty!
