The EE braggers thread!!!

HI I was just curious if someone can tell me if this is normal or not. I hatched out chicks 2 weeks ago and I noticed 2 of my EE chicks seem to have really long toes that slightly curl. I might just be thinking to hard about it or is it not right? They get along just like all the others just noticed the toes were a little different then the others is all.

chick num 1

chick num 2

yes, it looks like they have curled toes. I have a hen with a curled toe and she gets along fine. i didn't straighten it out because i wanted to know which hen had the problem and i will not breed her. sometimes it is inherited and sometimes it's from a hard incubation. (too cold, too hot, low humidity...)
Overall, those toes don't look bad at all. I'll look for a photo of mine.

much more curled

they are so huge and fluffy, I had an EE rooster over an assorted mix of hens, the JG hen was splash, so all of her chicks are blue, She's now with a Black JG pair.

This is the daddy to the above EE cross chicks, you can see they are starting to molt

They second hen looks just like my old bantam EE. The only difference was that my EE has gold markings in her neck and gold diamonds on her chest. She is pretty!
Thanks!
OOOOHHHHHH Im so excited!!!!! My EEs stopped laying eggs a few months ago. And today we got a green egg for the first time in FOREVER. Im Stoked!!!!!!!. I love my colored eggs, I hope she keeps at it. YAY

Our EEs must be communicating! I got my first EE egg yesterday too after a long break!!

Here is one of my 8 week old bantam Ameraucanas. Blue. She's super cute. :D

The 3 splash Ameraucanas.. No they are not crowded. I don;t know why they huddled in this corner when I have 2 working heat lamps and tons of space. I did just move them to a new brooder.

They are segregating by breed

But these guys are much smarter and know how to keep warm.

Thanks. I feel as though its not due to the incubator the temp and humidity were stable throughout temp 99.6 and humidity at about 42% which only dropped on occassion when water was running low but it was filled right back up.

i know alot of people seem to talk down about EEs (blah on them) hehe but I ADORE mine!! SO much so that hubby and I are buying a bunch more this year. We only have one.. but gosh.. ChickZilla is def one of my faves. What a pretty girl :D

Shes from MMH. How much do the EEs from Ideal differ in appearnce from her? we were thinking of ordering from Idea and driving to get them this year rather than shipping. I know they are always kinda a toss up... but we just love how she looks.

Thanks!

I am not trying to be rude and your set up looks like you have done this before but could it just be the ones in the corner are too hot

? Are they older with more feathers? Just a thought.

A few pics to share from today

This is NueroticCheeks, I don't take or post many pics of her she is usually not around when I'm taking pics, if she were human she would need antipsych meds for sure.

This girl doesn't have a name, there are several that look like her, but I love thier "lacing"

This is FerraO (as in ferrous oxide)(the one sitting) and LeppyQ (standing)
