I don't think its really a pattern. some duck eggs(like muscovies) have a waxxy protective film on the outside that can get scratched easily.

Very good looking boyHey all,
Haven't been around in a bit. I am soo happppppppyyyy!!!! I now have an EE rooster!! For now I am calling him Road Runner. His first night with us he decided to leave the safety of the fowl yard & got in a scrapper with something. I went out the next morning to feed them and collect eggs -couldn't find him- started looking all over & found a bunch of tail feathers...I was so sad & about to head back in and put the feathers away when I heard a crazy chicken noise, it was him!!!!! He no longer has his glorious tail but I don't care, I'm just happy he now stays in the fowl yard thru the night & sticks close during the day. Hopefully all my ladies will warm up to him soon!
Here he is!

dont favorelles lay a pinkish tinted eggs? What breed would I get for a pink egg?
The scratched up white one is a Muscovy duck egg that was rolling around in the pen, that's why it's scratched and dirty. The dark speckled one next to it from my Welsummer pullet, then three green EE and an extra large light brown speckled one from a 4yr old Welsummer/leghorn cross. I intend to breed her to one of my EE boys for oliverswhoa! What laid those other eggs? Amazing!
